Episode 3 : I made new friends

"You like it don't you honey?" She said and throw a big smile on me."You are so cute! I'm going to call you Elmo" So, she said it. She named me Elmo. I like that name. My name is Elmo. Elmo? Yes, Elmo! Hello world! My name is Elmo! I laughed hard all the way until my mother finish tickling my body. "Okay honey, I'm done bathing you. Let's go" She took me away and we are heading towards our home.....

My mother gave me a really big hug and said " You smell good child! Just like me. " and smiled followed by some giggles. So she said that I'm perfect and look a bit like my late dad. I longed to see my dad's face. I wonder how he looked like and suddenly an unimaginable figure popped out of my head. But now, I could never see his face in person. Never. He's dead and I must accept the I-really-don't-want-to-know fact that I'm an orphan. Only with a mom taking a good care of my fragile body. I can be strong! Not that I can. I MUST! Now, my mom was so happy to have me by her side even though my dad was not around anymore to support her, but she still had me and her friends to give a helping hand. I was so impressed for her determination to continue her life although an incident had turned her world upside down. She undoubtedly was a very tough women!

2 years later....

"Mommy!!! Mommy!!! Wake up! Wake up!" I shook my mother's huge, hairy, red-brownish body and she opened her eye lids with difficulty. Hey! Is that Elmo? Did I speak just now? For your information ladies and gentleman, yes! I did. I already knew how to speak now! A very big round of applause to my mother that had faced through hardship to teach me how to speak and communicate. Surprisingly I also know how to walk properly.

"Yes, honey! Why do you wake up so early?" she asked me with a confuse expression on her face. I usually woke up at 10 a.m in the morning, but now it's only 8 a.m in the morning. It was two hours earlier! Why did I wake up so early? I also could not answer that question myself. Maybe, I was over excited. "Mommy! Mommy! Today is my birthday! Don't you remember?" I asked and jumped high and swang around my mother with a little joy in my sweet little voice. "I know it's your birthday honey, and I never forget that I had promised to bring you to your new friends. Dont worry! I still remember it. You must be so excited" she uttered and then smiled tand suddenly gave me a little pat on my head. " Huhuhu! I can't wait!" I whispered to myself.

"Let's go! We must smell good if we want to make new friends dear. So, take a bath!" muttered her and without hesitation she headed straight to the river bank. I instantly walked towards her and followed her footsteps. On our way to the river bank, I saw a beautiful, yellow butterfly with a batik-like printing on it. Without thinking further I chased the butterfly. I tore and jumped up and down to catch it but it seemed to take forever for me to catch it. It slipped through my fingers! "Enough, dear! I don't want you to get lost because you keep chasing that pretty butterfly without realizing what's happening around you " my mom reminded me and suddenly grabbed me and put me on her back.

Finally, after ten minutes of walking we arrived at the river bank. I laughed when she slided me from her back to put me into the water. She joined me in the cold river and we scrubbed our fur, removing all the dirt, dust and microorganism until we were done. I took the bath myself without the help of my mother. It was amazing when I could do lots of things by myself as I was growing up. My mother helped me to get out of the river and we headed straight to my mother's friends place. I felt like I had butterflies in my stomach. I never had a friend before. Why was I so nervous?

We were passing many trees until we arrived at my mother's friends place. Before we reached there, my mother plucked a stalk of flower and put it on my ear to beautify myself. "Look, mommy! I'm a pweety pwincess!" I said joyfully. "Yes dear Elmo, you are my pretty little princess and forever will" and she hugged me. A wide smile appears on my face. Now, I am ready to meet my new friends. I took a long breath. I can do it! "Hi there Serina and Buffy" My mother greeted her friends welcomingly and hugged them tight. "This is my daughter, Elmo. She's turning two years old today" she held my hand and embraced me on her arm.

"Hi pretty Elmo, this is my son Mookie and his cousin, Cookie" Aunt Serina said and pointed her finger to each of them. Aunt Buffy is Aunt Serina’s sister and Mookie and Cookie were my new friends. "She is so adorable!" Aunt Buffy said and gave me a soft kiss on my chubby cheek. "Thank you Aunt Buffy" I smiled. "Now go and play with your new friends okay dear? Be carefull! Don't play too far!" my mother gave a short reminder for us and she's off with her friends. Probably gossiping about what was hot in the jungle. Mookie and Cookie grabbed my hands and we ran to play near the river.

We played tagged, and caught pretty butterfly. We were so happy until we heard a long call. We never heard of long call as loud as this one before. I usually heard this kind of long call from a far distance but this one really hit my ear drum hards. We were so scared and we hugged each other panically. Our mother came to grab us and we were put on their back. They were running so fast! I was so scared. My heart pumped blood faster and thumping my chest really hard. I was so scared that I didn't realize that I cried. "Mommy! Mommy! What's happening?" I want to know badly. "Nothing honey, just sit still and hold me tight" she said. We kept running until we reached to a place.........
